Bagless Vacuum Reviews Print E-mail

This is a reasonably inexpensive bagless Hoover upright with most of the bells and whistles.  It is also viewed favorably by consumers and is a recommended model by Consumer Reports Magazine.  It doesn’t have the long warranty of those vacuums in the Hoover Platinum Series, but the two-years parts and labor warranty is still better than some of the other machines in this price range.  [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2010]

The Bissell Healthy Home 16N5 is the newer version of the Bissell Healthy Home 5770 vacuum and it is getting some great reviews and ratings by consumers.  There have been some improvements over the 5770 and it comes with a 5-year warranty.  [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2010]

A quick look at a reasonably new vacuum that appears to be increasing in popularity, the Bissell 21K3 Cleanview Helix Deluxe Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner.  This unit has slowly been climbing the best-seller vacuum list on Amazon, although at this time there are still limited reviews or ratings.  In this review we provide a quick vacuum cleaner overview.  [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2010]

The Black & Decker PSV1800, sometimes called the Black & Decker Pivot Vac, is a bagless and cordless stick vacuum that is effective on both bare floors and carpets.  It lasts a fairly long time on a single charge and comes with a 2-year warranty.  There are some consumer comments that it is awkward emptying the dirt canister however.  [REF Black & Decker Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Eureka 437AZ is an inexpensive and lightweight upright vacuum that many consumers feel is a good buy - it typically retails for less than 80 USD.  It has great suction but is fairly small and according to those who purchased the vacuum, is preferred for smaller areas and not large house-wide cleaning jobs.  The vacuum could be considered a hybrid of a conventional upright and a stick vacuum.  [REF Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Hoover EmPower is a bagless, upright vacuum cleaner.  It is a good-looking machine and comes in only a silver/green color combination (see image in article).  It has HEPA filtration, a hush mode for quiet vacuuming and a Power Boost that is purported to help with “hard-to-clean-messes”.  This unit gets mixed reviews, with some consumers feeling that vacuum performs well and is an excellent choice for the money (the Hoover EmPower is often priced under 100USD) and other consumers indicating they were not impressed with the machines capabilities. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Electrolux EL7055B Twin Clean is a bagless, canister vacuum cleaner with a self-cleaning filter system.  It get good reviews, comes with several tools and is purported by Electrolux to be effective on bare floors, hardwood, stairs, carpets & rugs.  Consumers feel it is better on carpet than on bare floors however.  [REF Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Bissell Lift-Off MultiCyclonic Pet Vacuum (model 89Q9) is a bagless, upright with a number of great features – detachable canister, headlight, HEPA filter, 30 foot power cord, 15 inch cleaning path, rotating brush power on/off switch, etc.  Bissell indicates that the unit is good for both carpet and bare floors.  It gets decent consumer reviews and is not too expensive (under 200USD).   [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Dyson DC23 Motorhead vacuum cleaner is not the most popular Dyson and there is little written about this particular machine.  However the few consumer reviews available do give it good ratings.  This is a bagless, canister vacuum with tremendous power and like most Dysons is fairly expensive.  [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Bissell 82H1 seems to be fairly popular and gets good reviews from most consumers. It is also inexpensive (under 100USD) and is purported to be effective on both carpets and bare floors. Bissell has been providing floorcare products for over 125 years and they are best known for carpet cleaners (they are also fairly active in the community).   [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Bissell 3920 Pet Hair Eraser appears to be another in the line of “love it or hate it” vacuum cleaners.  Many consumers indicate that it does a great job, has fantastic suction and is good value for the money (several even feel it does a better job on animal hair than the Dyson Animal models).  However there are also folks that give this vacuum cleaner less than stellar ratings, citing decreased suction over time, an overly aggressive brushbar and a “messy to empty” dirt canister.  [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

Dyson claim that their vacuums don’t clog or lose suction and that they are durable and easy to use.  Dysons are certified asthma friendly according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, and they have a fairly long warranty (typically 5 years).  They are also very popular with consumers.  The Dyson DC15 Animal is no exception, and like most Dysons, (with the exception of some of their handheld models), gets very good consumer ratings.  [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Hoover UH70015 has lifetime washable filters (with HEPA), very strong suction and a lengthy warranty of 6 years.  This vacuum used to be fairly expensive (400+USD) rivaling the price of a Dyson, but the price has come down lately (less than 300USD through some sources). [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

Electrolux seem to have developed a winner with the Electrolux EL1012A Stick Hand Vac 2 N 1 Ergorapido Cordless (although we wish vacuum cleaner manufacturers could find a way to make less complicated names).  Consumers give this stick vacuum very good reviews with few disparaging remarks. [REF Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

A short but sweet review of the Dirt Devil 082500 Breeze Bagless Canister vacuum.  This vacuum cleaner gets fairly good reviews and is also relatively inexpensive for a canister vacuum.  Consumers indicate a number of pros and cons but in general feel that it is a good buy for the money – particularly for hardwood floors. [REF Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Dyson DC14 All-Floors comes with a motorized brushbar, the standard Dyson Root Cyclone technology (ensuring strong and continous suction) and a lifetime HEPA filter.  Coupled with a 5-year warranty this makes for a decent vacuum cleaner and consumer ratings bear this out.  [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

There are two DC25 models.  The DC25 All-Floors and the DC25 Animal.  It seems the only difference between the two (besides the colour) is that the DC25 Animal comes with an extra tool called the mini turbine tool.  Does this make the DC25 Animal worth the extra money?  [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Dirt Devil M082700 Vision Turbo Canister Vacuum is another in the line of love it or hate it vacuum cleaners.  It is a bagless, HEPA vacuum that some consumer like for it’s ability to clean hard surfaces and it’s lightweight, low noise and reasonably low cost (for a canister).  However detractors feel that the vacuum under-performs on carpet, has poorly designed attachments and a very small dust container.  [REF Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The Dyson DC18 is a bagless, upright, HEPA vacuum cleaner.  It is Dyson’s lightweight upright, weighing in at 6.7 kg (about 14.7lbs).  It has most of the same features as Dyson’s heavier uprights and still delivers 200 air watts of suction power.  It gets very solid consumer reviews but, like most Dysons, is not a cheap unit.  [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

This is a short and to-the-point review of a popular, no-frills, stick vacuum cleaner.  Consumers generally feel that this machine is great for light cleanups and is also a pretty good buy.  It is not meant to do heavy-duty work however. [REF Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

Make no mistake about it, this is an expensive machine – presently 469USD at Amazon -  however the reviews indicate that you get what you pay for.  This unit gets extremely good ratings/reviews and there were over 190 that we found.  This is a pretty solid sample size so clearly consumers that purchased this product (regardless of its cost) feel that it was worth the money and does what it was designed to do. [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

Introducing the DC24 Ball vacuum cleaner - the newest addition to the DC Ball family and another upright vacuum cleaner by Dyson. Based on the unique Ball technology this vacuum is likely to be popular among those looking for a lightweight, compact cleaning machine. It will be available in the U.K. after 20 February 2008 and after 10 March in the US. Be sure to check Dyson’s website for the exact date it will ship.  They are taking pre-orders at this time... [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008]

In this vacuum cleaner review we investigate the Dyson DC07, a vacuum that rates reasonably well according to what consumers report.  There are two Dyson DC07 models – the “All Floors” model and the “Animal” model.  These are referred to as the “Origin range”.  The “Animal” includes a Carpet Care Kit, a Low Reach Floor Tool (an attachment for easier cleaning under low furniture), and a Mini Turbine Head (special vacuum cleaner head that aids in removing pet hairs from upholstery, stairs, and cars).  The “All Floors” model does not have these features but comes standard with a reversible wand, a quick draw hose (instant 17ft extension), automatic adjustment to different carpet heights, and a brush angled to reach between the baseboard and the floor, flicking dust directly into the airflow... [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008]

The Hoover Platinum Collection Linx Cordless Stick Vacuum is sometimes referred to as the Platinum Collection Cordless Stick Vac or sometimes simply the BH50010 (which is the model number).  It is a cordless and bagless stick vacuum cleaner and is the first stick vacuum to come equipped with Hoover’s WindTunnel technology. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

W.H. "Boss" Hoover bought the patent for the “suction sweeper” from an inventor in 1908.  Since then Hoover engineers have been improving upon the basic design, creating a comprehensive range of vacuum cleaner models for both general and specialized cleaning.  In this vacuum cleaner rating we look at another in the long line of Hoover cleaning machines; namely the Hoover U5507-900.  This bagless vacuum cleaner offers “widepath” cleaning – providing a 14.5 inch sweep, a HEPA filter, stretch hose, several add-on cleaning tools, a headlight (a first developed by Hoover engineers years ago), a furniture guard and a 24 foot retractable cord… [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008]

A lightweight, bagless, inexpensive vacuum cleaner manufactured by Hoover with reasonably good consumer ratings.  It is also rather fashionable and has a sleek, smooth design with a painted high gloss finish. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008]

The Hoover S3765-040 uses Hoover’s patented WindTunnel technology.   Hoover does not go into great detail about how the WindTunnel technology works other than to say their engineers went to great lengths to develop a system that lifts and traps dirt very efficiently without any scattering.  Reviews and ratings on this vacuum seem to vary widely, from good on Amazon to fairly average on Epinions.  [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008]

Dirt Devil makes quite a few funky looking vacuum cleaners.  The Dirt Devil MBV2030 Rechargeable Broom Vacuum is no exception.  This device is essentially a combination broom and vacuum cleaner and comes in a myriad of colours from basic black or white to plum, seabreeze or butter yellow (and more).  Is this the best vacuum cleaner?  Let's review the features and consider what consumers report... [REF Dirt Devil Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008]

The iRobot Roomba 410 is an entry-level robotic vacuum cleaner with a host of features.  For the uninitiated, robotic vacuum cleaners are small, often disc shaped, battery operated vacuums that scour the floor vacuuming up dirt, hair, lint and the like using some computer means of navigation.   The 410 utilizes counter rotating brushes and a vacuum to pick up dirt (these brushes routinely have to be cleaned so they are hand-removable).  It does not use any kind of bag and the dirt is captured in a “dirt cup” – which iRobot claims is very easy to remove and empty.  Also, an interesting note is that its sensors and programming are set up such that the Roomba 410 covers every area of the floor an average of four times during a given cleaning session.  To learn more about Robotic Vacuums in general see our other article titled “Robotic Vacuums - An Overview”.  [REF Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]

The iRobot Roomba 560 is the third generation of Roomba and is one of iRobot’s “middle-of-the-road” models.   iRobot indicates that there are many improvements over previous models.  Consumers seem to like the product but also indicate that, while it is a step forward, it still has some issues. [REF Robotic Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]
