![]() Click to see on Amazon The Bissell Rewind SmartClean 58F8 is another reasonably priced Bissell vacuum that is getting good consumer reviews and ratings. It can be found online at some sources for under $150 and it comes with HEPA filtration, a retractable power cord, an array of attachments, and a carpet clean sensor that many folks really like. It is also a bagless machine with a respectably long warranty for the price. Some people, however, have commented that it is a little heavy, although it is only just slightly heavier than your average upright. [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2011] Several consumers ratings were found and are shown in the table below. They indicate a fairly high level of satisfaction with the 58f8.
A review of consumer comments from several quality online sources yielded the following common Bissell Rewind SmartClean likes and dislikes: PROS CONS The 58f8 is a fairly standard upright and it comes with most of the basic features and even a few extras. It is powered by a 12 amp motor, is bagless and uses cyclonic suction, made famous by Dyson. This approach spins air at extremely high velocity inside a cyclonic cylinder. Centrifugal force pushes the dirt/dust particles out against the wall of the cylinder and into a dirt canister. This technology is also said to help keep filters cleaner longer which in turn ensures that suction is not much diminished over time. The Bissell Rewind SmartClean comes with several attachments and tools including: Another feature that consumers like is the retractable power cord which retracts at the push of a button. The power cord is also 25 feet in length. While not too short it is, in our opinion, not long enough. 30 feet would be better. In addition the vacuum weighs in at 17.5 lbs. There are some comments that the vacuum is a bit heavy and cumbersome to move around (not many comments to this affect but some). It is indeed slightly heavier than your average upright but there are certainly others that are heavier. The weight may not be as much of an issue for younger and/or stronger users. Other vacuum features include a fairly wide 15 inch cleaning path and an easy-to-empty clear plastic dirt canister. The Bissell Rewind SmartClean also sports a Headlight which helps to illuminate dark areas and under furniture when vacuuming. The brushbar on this machine has 2 rows and is motor driven (meaning it is not air driven) but there is no brushbar on/off switch. This may be an issue for some people depending on the bare floor cleaning one wants to do. Bare floor cleaning is often done with the brushbar off. The 58F8 has 5 height settings which allow one to adjust the nozzle height for different lengths of carpet and it carries a 3-year limited parts and labor warranty. Bissell Vacuum Video
