Eureka Vacuum Reviews

The company was founded in Detroit in 1909 and by the 1920's it had become the largest manufacturer of vacuum cleaners in the US. The company is now part of the Electrolux family. Eureka manufactures uprights, canisters, stick vacs, handhelds, steam cleaners and other home cleaning systems. It also makes vacuum parts and accessories. We have found Eureka vacuums to be reasonably priced and there are some excellent examples of stick vacs and handhelds. Several Eureka vacuums have made the cut in our top vacuum lists.

Eureka Airspeed Unlimited Rewind AS3030A

Avg. consumer rating = 84/100

The Eureka Airspeed Unlimited Rewind (model AS3030A) is a bagless upright vacuum cleaner.  It performs fairly well on carpet and bare floors and the powered brushroll has on/off controls.  In addition, it comes with a retractable power cord and 5 nozzle height settings.  Consumer ratings are reasonable but common complaints include that the machine is rather loud and that it suffers from poor build quality.  The MSRP on this vacuum is about $130 but you should be able to find it for under $100.

Eureka AirSpeed ONE AS2013A

Avg. consumer rating = 73/100

The Eureka AirSpeed ONE (AS2013A) is inexpensive and rather cheaply made but it has tons of suction. This is a bagless upright where compromises have clearly been made in an effort to offer a unit that can be found online (at some retailers) for as low as $55.  The power cord is short, the fit and finish isn’t great and the dust canister is small.  However the unit is very lightweight and consumers report that the suction is rather astounding.

Eureka AirExcel 990A Canister Vacuum

Avg. consumer rating = 81/100

If you want an inexpensive lightweight canister vacuum for bare floors then the Eureka AirExcel may fit your needs.  But if you have lots of carpet to clean this machine is probably not the best choice.  Owners like the unit’'s powerful suction, relatively quiet operation and retractable power cord but lament the lack of a brushbar in the nozzle which impairs its performance on carpet..

Eureka LightSpeed 4700D

Avg. consumer rating = 65/100

This bagless upright is fairly popular but that is likely because it is inexpensive.  It can be found online for between $50 and $70.  Consumers do not give this vacuum cleaner very high grades.  Many owners feel that, despite the low price, it still isn’t worth the money, and they cite the need to frequently clean the filter, the short hose, and the small dust canister as reasons.

Eureka SuctionSeal Pet Upright Vacuum - AS1104A

Avg. consumer rating = 73/100

The Eureka SuctionSeal - model AS1104A  - is a bagless upright that uses special moving plates under the nozzle to increase suction. Owners generally agree that this approach works and that the vacuum generates powerful suction at the floor surface.  The AS1104A can be found online for about $160, making it a reasonably priced upright.  Consumer ratings are ok,– but not stellar. Owners like the pet power tool, the low profile nozzle and the ability to clean right up to baseboards. However it is somewhat heavy and can be difficult to maneuver and carry.

Eureka AirSpeed PET AS1051A

Avg. consumer rating = 83/100

Eureka now has over 10 different AirSpeed models on the market.  Consumer ratings for the Eureka AirSpeed AS1051A are not bad, but not stellar - owners like that the machine is light, powerful, and maneuverable but some find it a bit loud.  The AS1051A is formally known as the AirSpeed ABS (Advanced Bag System) PET AS1051A and it has a few features that make it popular with pet owners.  The vacuum includes a pet hair brush, a pet hair tool (PET Power Paw) and a HEPA filter with charcoal to remove allergens and help eliminate odors.

Eureka Pet Lover Deluxe 8811AVZ

Avg. consumer rating = 72/100

We previously looked at another Eureka Pet Lover vacuum, the 3684F canister, and it subsequently ended up on our list of Best Vacuum Cleaners Under $100.  In this review we are investigating the more recent Eureka Pet Lover Deluxe upright (model 8811AVZ).  It has been getting reasonable reviews and consumers report that it has strong suction, is reasonably priced, and is very good at removing pet hair.  However a few owners find it rather loud and it also does not have brushbar on/off controls.

Eureka AirSpeed Gold Bagless Upright Vacuum

Avg. consumer rating = 82/100

The Eureka Airspeed Gold is a relatively inexpensive bagless upright vacuum that provides strong suction through Eureka'’s Airspeed technology.  It comes with a number of attachments and is also getting good reviews from owners.  Consumers like the unit'’s powerful suction and easy-empty dirt canister but the vacuum is a bit heavy and several owners note that the filters need to be cleaned frequently.

Eureka Quick Up Vacuums

Avg. consumer rating = 90/100

The Eureka Quick Up group of vacuums appears to have some average vacuums and some winners.  The corded 169H or 169J are getting top notch ratings. The 96 series is also quite popular and are all very light and have good, strong batteries.  All of these stick vacs are inexpensive and double as handheld vacuums.

Eureka Boss SmartVac Pet Lover Upright Vacuum Cleaner (4870SZ)

Avg. consumer rating = 64/100

The Eureka Boss SmartVac Pet Lover 4870SZ is a bagged upright vacuum and has been rated as a Consumers Digest Best Buy.  However it is getting pretty average consumer reviews and some owners have highlighted a number of issues issues. The 4870SZ was created for households with pets, and as such comes with several pet-friendly features including odor-eating vacuum cleaner bags, a sealed system, and High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration.

Eureka ReadyForce 900A Canister Vacuum

Avg. consumer rating = 77/100

The Eureka ReadyForce 900A is a very inexpensive canister vacuum (about 60USD on Amazon).  For the price it also gets reasonable consumer reviews.  Ratings for this unit used to be better but they have dropped in recent years.  If you have a lot of hard floors and are looking for something light, easy to maintain and not too loud then this could be a good choice.  However if your house has a lot of carpet you may want to consider other options.

Eureka Comfort Clean

Avg. consumer rating = 71/100

Consumer ratings for the Eureka Comfort Clean (model 4236AZ) are quite average.  It is a bagless upright with HEPA filtration that typically sells for 100 - 150USD.  A common concern for those that purchased the vacuum is its weight (19lbs).  Consumers find this machine heavier than expected.

Eureka C5712A Review

Avg. consumer rating = 61/100

The Eureka C5712A is a commercial vacuum and like most commercial machines it does not come with a lot of fancy features, although this one does have a few tools and it uses a sealed HEPA filtration system.  It is recommended for UL-listed commercial or heavy-duty residential use.  Ratings and comments for this unit are not easy to come by but those that exist don't seem particularly favorable.

Eureka 3684F Pet Lover Mighty Mite Review

Avg. consumer rating = 85/100

Very much a “no bells & whistles” bagged canister vacuum, the Eureka 3684F Pet Lover nevertheless gets good ratings and reviews from consumers.  It is also fairly inexpensive at around the 100USD level (at certain outlets).  Consumers like the fact that it is very lightweight, compact and good on hard surfaces, but point out that the short power cord and low quality vacuum hose are shortcomings.

Electrolux Eureka Sanitaire SC3683A Commercial Canister Vac

Avg. consumer rating = 83/100

The Eureka Sanitaire SC3683A is considered a commercial vacuum but plenty of folks seem to be using it in their homes.  Consumers like the fact that it is small, light, powerful and HEPA ready, although there are some comments about it being better on hard surfaces than carpet.

Eureka 437AZ Optima Lightweight Upright Vacuum Review

Avg. consumer rating = 81/100

The Eureka 437AZ is an inexpensive and lightweight upright vacuum that many consumers feel is a good buy - it typically retails for less than 80 USD.  It has great suction but is fairly small and according to those who purchased the vacuum, is preferred for smaller areas and not large house-wide cleaning jobs.  The vacuum could be considered a hybrid of a conventional upright and a stick vacuum.

Eureka Enviro Steamer

Eureka 313A

Avg. consumer rating = 72/100

In researching this particular item it became obvious that the 313 is pretty new and much of the research available is for previous models of the Enviro Steamer.  This will undoubtedly change over time.  Eureka describe the Enviro Steamer (313) as ideal for people for people who want an eco-friendly cleaning product.

Rating the Eureka 4870GZ Boss SmartVac Upright

Avg. consumer rating = 79/100

In this vacuum cleaner review we find that Eureka'’s 4870GZ Boss SmartVac Upright vacuum cleaner has several good features. If you are looking at vacuum cleaner ratings however, this one gets fairly average marks.  The motorised brushroll turns on and off so you can switch from carpet to hard floors with ease and the HEPA filtration removes dirt, dust and allergens down to .03 microns.  Also their is a newer version of this machine - the 4870MZ - but is essentially the same vacuum with a different color scheme.

Eureka 71A Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

Avg. consumer rating = 87/100

This hand held vacuum cleaner truly looks like a winner.  There are great reviews all around.  Detailed information is limited but this is in part due to the fact that this is a pretty simple vacuum with no fancy features to expound upon.  If you are looking at vacuum cleaner ratings you will find that consumers report the Eureka 71A gets the job done.  Note that the 71A has been replaced by the 71B which is virtually the same handheld vacuum.

Eureka Vacuums - An Overview

There are any number of vacuum cleaner manufacturers in the world at the present moment. All of them have varying degrees of success in terms of their sales figures each year. However, very few of them can boast to be up there with the best. Eureka are one of those manufacturers that can make this statement.  Before we look into the products though, it is a good idea to review the company...
