Features ![]() Image from Eureka 4236AZ Manual This machine also comes with HEPA filtration - a useful feature for those with allergies or asthma. HEPA filtration will remove allergens like pet dander, dust mites, pollen, etc from the air. More specifically it removes 99.97% of all particles with a diameter of 0.3 microns or larger from the air path. The level of filtration has become very popular and somewhat common on full size vacuum cleaners today. It is less common on stick vacs and handhelds. The Eureka 4236AZ Comfort Clean comes with a power paw turbo brush that is useful for removing pet hair from stairs or upholstery, and also a crevice tool (for vacuuming in hard to reach areas), a dusting brush, and a telescopic wand (pre-attached to hose). Edge cleaning is built into this machine and it allows you to clean right up to baseboards. The power cord on the 4236AZ is 25 feet long – this is a little short but not too bad. It does have auto-cord rewind however and a number of consumers have indicated that they really like this feature. The cleaning path is 14 inches wide which is about average. There is also a headlight for illuminating dark or dimmer areas (a nice feature and one that you don’t want to do without once you have gotten used to it). The brushbar on the 4236AZ is motorized but it cannot be turned off. The ability to turn the brushbar off is useful if you are vacuuming delicate surfaces. A foot controlled height adjustment helps accommodate different surfaces however (carpet or bare-floors). Also, as mentioned previously, the weight of the vacuum is 19lbs. This is fairly heavy and it can require some effort to move or lift the vacuum. The handle on the vacuum is ergonomically designed to adjust to 8 different user heights ranging from 42" to 47".
