Handheld Vacuum Deals

The handheld vacuum is designed for small cleanup jobs.  They are lightweight, handheld, and mainly cordless. Almost all of them are bagless and use a dirt cup. However handhelds are often not very powerful when compared to larger full size vacuums and the dirt cup is small. They are not meant as a replacement for a full size machine.

When looking for a handheld it is best to consider the kind of cleaning you are likely to do.  Some handhelds have a brushbar while others do not.  A brushbar helps pull up dirt and debris from carpet but it is not that useful on hard floors or bare surfaces.

Cordless handhelds are powered by a rechargeable battery.  Many batteries will last some 15 minutes or so on a full charge but some will not.  Battery life is an important feature to consider when buying a machine.  Also, some batteries take a very long time to recharge while others are much quicker.

A corded handheld has none of the battery issues of a cordless handheld and will continue to provide suction while plugged in but it can be inconvenient searching for electrical outlets – especially when moving from room to room.

HEPA filtration is generally not an issue for most consumers looking for a handheld but some units do have it.  HEPA filtration is more common on full size vacuums and to some extent stick vacs.
