A lightweight, bagless, inexpensive vacuum cleaner manufactured by Hoover with reasonably good consumer ratings. It is also rather fashionable and has a sleek, smooth design with a painted high gloss finish. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008] The Hoover S2220 has a 8.2 amp motor which, according to consumers, provides very good suction. It also has a twenty foot power cord and comes with a powered nozzle (has its own motor) that aids in carpet and rug cleaning. This is another bagless vacuum cleaner (they appear to be quite popular these days). It has a transparent, washable dirt cup which can be removed and emptied. Consumers indicate that the vacuum is best for smaller cleanup jobs and not for cleaning entire houses. Some individuals have mentioned that the vacuum can overheat if the power nozzle is used extensively when cleaning rugs. It seems it is best for hardwood floors, tiles or smaller rugs and works very well on these. Some consumers report that the dirt cup fills up too quickly and must be emptied too frequently and that it is difficult to stand the vacuum up – it falls over easily. Additionally, quite a few owners have been frustrated with the 20 foot cord – finding it too short. Overall, however, it is clear that most folks who bought the S2220 vacuum cleaner feel that it works very well on hard surfaces (or smaller rug areas) and is great for picking up animal hair and dirt. It is also easy to maneuver with it’s light weight and large wheels and is easy to store because of it’s small size. There seems to be little written about the actual weight of this unit but the consensus is somewhere around 10 lbs. It also comes with a full one year warranty and prices range between about 50 and 60USD. What are Consumers Reporting?
