Shark NV682 Pros ConsThe Shark NV682 is a popular bagless upright vacuum cleaner and it has achieved a very high score on our site, placing it near the top of our Vacuum Cleaner Finder tool.

We have done a very detailed review of this machine which can be found here – Shark NV682 Review – but we thought it would be helpful to put together a short article with 2 quick videos highlighting the vacuum’s pros and cons.  A video is worth a thousand words.

In these videos we discuss several things that we really like about this vacuum cleaner including its lightweight design, filtration system, respectably long power cord, ease of swapping cleaning heads, and motorized brushroll controls.  We also highlight the unit’s handy lift-away mode, pet power brush, maneuverability and edge cleaning capabilities.

While there are many things to like about the Shark Speed, there are a few issues we ran across.  These include the pet power tool binding up on long dog hair, a smallish dust canister, and a short hose.  In addition, we found that we probably wouldn’t use the canister mode and that the motorized nozzle had a tendency to leave some debris behind.

Having highlighted the pros and cons of this bagless vacuum it is worth pointing out that all vacuums have their “good” and “bad”, and the NV682 is head and shoulders above most in terms of “good”.  This vacuum has a very high owner satisfaction rate and the average consumer rating is 97 out of 100 or about 4.85 stars out of 5.

This is a new vacuum cleaner and as such is not yet on some of our “Best” lists.  However it is likely when these lists are updated that this machine will make the cut for some of them.

Wish your vacuum finder allowed multiple filters: hepa, lightweight, etc. in addition to features you do let us select for.

Like your site and am grateful for it.

Hi Cathleen,

I'm really glad you like the site! We do have a HEPA/Non-HEPA filter in the Vacuum Cleaner Finder along with Cordless/Corded and Bagless/Bagged but nothing to do with weight. I can see the value of adding something like weight and other filters in the future though.
