This is a reasonably inexpensive bagless Hoover upright with most of the bells and whistles. It is also viewed favorably by consumers and is a recommended model by Consumer Reports Magazine. It doesn’t have the long warranty of those vacuums in the Hoover Platinum Series, but the two-years parts and labor warranty is still better than some of the other machines in this price range. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2010] The Bissell Healthy Home 16N5 is the newer version of the Bissell Healthy Home 5770 vacuum and it is getting some great reviews and ratings by consumers. There have been some improvements over the 5770 and it comes with a 5-year warranty. [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2010] A quick look at a reasonably new vacuum that appears to be increasing in popularity, the Bissell 21K3 Cleanview Helix Deluxe Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner. This unit has slowly been climbing the best-seller vacuum list on Amazon, although at this time there are still limited reviews or ratings. In this review we provide a quick vacuum cleaner overview. [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2010] The Eureka 437AZ is an inexpensive and lightweight upright vacuum that many consumers feel is a good buy - it typically retails for less than 80 USD. It has great suction but is fairly small and according to those who purchased the vacuum, is preferred for smaller areas and not large house-wide cleaning jobs. The vacuum could be considered a hybrid of a conventional upright and a stick vacuum. [REF Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] The Hoover EmPower is a bagless, upright vacuum cleaner. It is a good-looking machine and comes in only a silver/green color combination (see image in article). It has HEPA filtration, a hush mode for quiet vacuuming and a Power Boost that is purported to help with “hard-to-clean-messes”. This unit gets mixed reviews, with some consumers feeling that vacuum performs well and is an excellent choice for the money (the Hoover EmPower is often priced under 100USD) and other consumers indicating they were not impressed with the machines capabilities. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] The Panasonic MC UG471 is a fairly basic machine that is not too expensive – a little over 100 USD at most stores. But it does have most of what counts: strong suction, HEPA filter, and a range of tools. It is also noted to be reasonably quiet and very good on carpet (less-so on bare floors). [REF Panasonic Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] The Bissell Lift-Off MultiCyclonic Pet Vacuum (model 89Q9) is a bagless, upright with a number of great features – detachable canister, headlight, HEPA filter, 30 foot power cord, 15 inch cleaning path, rotating brush power on/off switch, etc. Bissell indicates that the unit is good for both carpet and bare floors. It gets decent consumer reviews and is not too expensive (under 200USD). [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] The Bissell 82H1 seems to be fairly popular and gets good reviews from most consumers. It is also inexpensive (under 100USD) and is purported to be effective on both carpets and bare floors. Bissell has been providing floorcare products for over 125 years and they are best known for carpet cleaners (they are also fairly active in the community). [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] The Bissell 3920 Pet Hair Eraser appears to be another in the line of “love it or hate it” vacuum cleaners. Many consumers indicate that it does a great job, has fantastic suction and is good value for the money (several even feel it does a better job on animal hair than the Dyson Animal models). However there are also folks that give this vacuum cleaner less than stellar ratings, citing decreased suction over time, an overly aggressive brushbar and a “messy to empty” dirt canister. [REF Bissell Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] Dyson claim that their vacuums don’t clog or lose suction and that they are durable and easy to use. Dysons are certified asthma friendly according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, and they have a fairly long warranty (typically 5 years). They are also very popular with consumers. The Dyson DC15 Animal is no exception, and like most Dysons, (with the exception of some of their handheld models), gets very good consumer ratings. [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] The Hoover UH70015 has lifetime washable filters (with HEPA), very strong suction and a lengthy warranty of 6 years. This vacuum used to be fairly expensive (400+USD) rivaling the price of a Dyson, but the price has come down lately (less than 300USD through some sources). [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] The Dyson DC14 All-Floors comes with a motorized brushbar, the standard Dyson Root Cyclone technology (ensuring strong and continous suction) and a lifetime HEPA filter. Coupled with a 5-year warranty this makes for a decent vacuum cleaner and consumer ratings bear this out. [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] There are two DC25 models. The DC25 All-Floors and the DC25 Animal. It seems the only difference between the two (besides the colour) is that the DC25 Animal comes with an extra tool called the mini turbine tool. Does this make the DC25 Animal worth the extra money? [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] The Dyson DC18 is a bagless, upright, HEPA vacuum cleaner. It is Dyson’s lightweight upright, weighing in at 6.7 kg (about 14.7lbs). It has most of the same features as Dyson’s heavier uprights and still delivers 200 air watts of suction power. It gets very solid consumer reviews but, like most Dysons, is not a cheap unit. [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] The Hoover U6485-900 Windtunnel Anniversary Vacuum Cleaner is a self-propelled, bagged upright with HEPA filtration. Many consumers are sold on the self-propelling feature and also report that their purchase was based on the vacuum getting top-notch reviews by a leading Consumer Reports magazine. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] Make no mistake about it, this is an expensive machine – presently 469USD at Amazon - however the reviews indicate that you get what you pay for. This unit gets extremely good ratings/reviews and there were over 190 that we found. This is a pretty solid sample size so clearly consumers that purchased this product (regardless of its cost) feel that it was worth the money and does what it was designed to do. [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] Introducing the DC24 Ball vacuum cleaner - the newest addition to the DC Ball family and another upright vacuum cleaner by Dyson. Based on the unique Ball technology this vacuum is likely to be popular among those looking for a lightweight, compact cleaning machine. It will be available in the U.K. after 20 February 2008 and after 10 March in the US. Be sure to check Dyson’s website for the exact date it will ship. They are taking pre-orders at this time... [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008] In this vacuum cleaner review we investigate the Dyson DC07, a vacuum that rates reasonably well according to what consumers report. There are two Dyson DC07 models – the “All Floors” model and the “Animal” model. These are referred to as the “Origin range”. The “Animal” includes a Carpet Care Kit, a Low Reach Floor Tool (an attachment for easier cleaning under low furniture), and a Mini Turbine Head (special vacuum cleaner head that aids in removing pet hairs from upholstery, stairs, and cars). The “All Floors” model does not have these features but comes standard with a reversible wand, a quick draw hose (instant 17ft extension), automatic adjustment to different carpet heights, and a brush angled to reach between the baseboard and the floor, flicking dust directly into the airflow... [REF Dyson Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008] This is an interesting vacuum cleaner. A review of hundreds of comments seems to indicate that you either love this machine or you hate it. This is a tricky review – and it could be that consumer’s expectations of a wet/dry vacuum cleaner are quite varied. We see comments that it is too loud, followed by comments that it is fairly quiet, and several buyers feel that it does an excellent cleaning job while others are not as convinced. It may also be (and we have read this too on occasion) that it requires a little practice to learn to use properly and one has to get the settings just right. Having said that, there are clearly more consumers that like the vacuum as seen by the scores in Consumer Rating Table. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] The U5491-900 is a bagged upright vacuum cleaner that is not too expensive and gets quite good reviews. It does not use a dirt-container like many of the bagless machines today, but instead uses a disposable bag. There is a long standing debate about whether bagged or bagless vacuum cleaners being better – bagged tend to make it easier to dispose of the collected dirt and it is cleaner to throw away the bag and put a new one in. Bagless do not require purchasing and throwing away bags but it should be noted that they often have filters that need to be maintained or replaced and they rely on seals to prevent the dirt-container from leaking. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] This is perhaps the highest rated vacuum cleaner we have had the opportunity to review – it is also a pretty recent addition to the vacuum cleaner market. It should be noted however that at this time we found only 23 reviews. But even so, the average review was 5 stars out of 5 with the machine getting high marks for power, maneuverability, lightweight construction, and a 6-year warranty. There is very little negative written about the Hoover UH30010COM. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] When deciding on a steam vacuum many consumers price the cost of having a professional cleaning company come in and do their carpets. The pricing is often about the same as the price of the Hoover F7411-900 SteamVac Dual V Widepath Carpet Cleaner – if you can get a good deal on the vacuum then it is often less. Granted that you have to do the work yourself if you own the cleaner but at least you can use it many times. If you have the desire (and the energy) one of these babies is the way to go, and the Hoover F7411-900 gets pretty good marks from consumers. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] Hoover is a very well established brand. So much so that the British often refer to a vacuum cleaner as a “hoover”. The company manufacturers many electrical household items and has been around since the early 1900’s. They have recently released a series of vacuums coined “anniversary”. This is to commemorate their 100th anniversary - and one of the popular anniversary vacuums is the “Hoover U5786900 Windtunnel Anniversary Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner”. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009] W.H. "Boss" Hoover bought the patent for the “suction sweeper” from an inventor in 1908. Since then Hoover engineers have been improving upon the basic design, creating a comprehensive range of vacuum cleaner models for both general and specialized cleaning. In this vacuum cleaner rating we look at another in the long line of Hoover cleaning machines; namely the Hoover U5507-900. This bagless vacuum cleaner offers “widepath” cleaning – providing a 14.5 inch sweep, a HEPA filter, stretch hose, several add-on cleaning tools, a headlight (a first developed by Hoover engineers years ago), a furniture guard and a 24 foot retractable cord… [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008] The Hoover U5140900 Tempo Widepath Bagged Upright vacuum is a good hard working vacuum cleaner. It has a powerful 12 amp motor, a convenient 8.5 meter power cord, it weights just 8.62 kilograms, and it has a lifetime HEPA 4 stage filtration system. Other features include a dusting brush, headlamp, on-board tools, and full bag indicator. It is one of the higher rated vacuums in the lightweight, low cost vacuum category. It is a great lower-end vacuum cleaner and is highly rated by consumers, many of which feel that it is an exceptional buy. It is well worth researching this vacuum if you are looking for something low cost, lightweight and efficient... [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008] The F5914-900 SteamVac is a best-seller on Amazon and over 1000 consumers have rated this machine an average of 9 out of 10 (Dec/09 update). It is also presently selling at about a 40% discount. Hoover is part of TTI Floor Care North America. They have been developing high performance and specialized cleaning machines for both commercial and domestic use since 1908. The Hoover F5914-900 SteamVac is another in a long line of Hoover innovative vacuum cleaners. [REF Hoover Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008] In this vacuum cleaner review we find that Eureka’s 4870GZ Boss SmartVac Upright vacuum cleaner has many features that make it a great choice. If you are looking at vacuum cleaner ratings, this one gets good marks. The motorised brushroll turns on and off so you can switch from carpet to hard floors with ease and the true HEPA filtration removes dirt, dust and allergens down to .03 microns. Also the 4870MZ is the latest version but is essentially the same vacuum with a different color scheme. [REF Eureka Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2008] The Electrolux EL5020A Intensity Upright is a powerful, lightweight, inexpensive vacuum cleaner. Amazon’s price of 108 bucks right now (as of this writing) seems like a pretty amazing deal - the Electrolux site posts an MSRP of 299.99USD. This is a bagged vacuum cleaner. Some people like a bagged machine because they do not have to consistently clean out a “dirt receptacle”. However with a bagged machine you do have consumables – in the form of vacuum cleaner bags. Some folks actually clean out the bags and re-use them a number of times. [REF Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner Reviews 2009]
