The company is still headquartered in Maryland today and now sells power tools, hardware, home improvement products, etc. in over 100 countries worldwide. In this review we look at the Black and Decker Pivot Vacuum 20V Max, model BDH2000PL. This 20 volt version of the popular handheld uses a Lithium-Ion battery (provides fade-free power). Owners are pleased with the suction, the compact size of the unit, and the pivoting nozzle which allows access to areas that would otherwise be difficult to vacuum. Folks also highlight that the BDH2000PL looks rather sleek and sophisticated in its charging cradle. However, the quality of the vacuum seems average at best and owners have found themselves dealing with motor issues, battery issues, and dust canister issues.

There are a number of different PowerSeries Pro cordless vacuum models from Black + Decker but the vacuums are all quite similar. They are lightweight, use a lithium-ION battery, and have the portable canister feature. Consumer ratings for the vacuums are reasonable and the price point is not too high (base model is about $150). These machines should be a consideration if you want cordless convenience and you have a smaller home with lots of bare floors.

The Black and Decker Air Swivel Lite (model BDASL202) is a very lightweight, bagless upright vacuum cleaner. It is also compact and easy to maneuver. The suction is good, it performs well on pet hair, and the machine is affordable. It does have some issues however. A number of owners have reported that it just stops running for no apparent reason and it either has to be repaired or replaced – there doesn’t seem to be an easy fix. In addition, there are several instances of the belt breaking.

The Black & Decker BDH2000L handheld vacuum is getting good ratings from consumers. But like most other good handhelds it is not cheap and presently costs in the neighbourhood of $90. It is powered by a Lithium Ion battery which provides a respectable run time and the unit also charges more quickly than some of the older handhelds. In general owners are pleased with the BDH2000L although there is some discontent regarding the noise level.

Black & Decker manufacture a host of Dust Buster handheld vacuums and the CHV1410L is the top model (at the time of this writing). The CHV1410L is a highly rated Dust Buster on Amazon and owners like the machine's built in nozzle extension, quick recharge capability and long battery life. However some folks report that the charger light is distractingly bright and others lament that the unit doesnt come with a wall mount.
