- Details
Avg. consumer rating = 77/100
The Hoover S3755 WindTunnel vacuum gets mixed reviews although it has been recommended by a leading consumer magazine. It comes with all the bells and whistles and consumers like the fact that it is powerful, easy to maneuver and has good attachments, but a number of folks feel that the dirt canister is too small and requires frequent emptying.
Consumer Input
As mentioned, the consumer ratings for the Hoover S3755 WindTunnel are somewhat mixed. Several sites score it in the 3 out of 5 range while Walmart buyers seem to like the machine more, giving it a more respectable 4.2 stars out of 5. Walmart also has a very large number of consumer ratings on its site for the S3755 (see table below). All-in-all ratings are not too bad for this vacuum but there are some disgruntled consumers.

Features
The S3755 is a bagless vacuum and as such it is not necessary to buy and dispose of vacuum bags. Additionally, several of the filters on this machine are washable so consumables are kept to a minimum. The dirt canister is touted as easy-empty and while several consumers agreed with this, others did not.
Like many vacuums today the S3755 WindTunnel comes with HEPA filtration. HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air and it is a very efficient form of filtration that filters out the likes of pet dander, dust, dust mite feces, pollen and many other allergens. HEPA filtration is very popular with those who suffer from asthma or allergies. For the more scientific minded, a HEPA filter will remove 99.97% of all particles of a diameter 0.3 microns or larger from the air that passes through it. The HEPA filter on the S3755 is washable.
An auto-rewind cord comes with this canister vacuum and, as is the case with most vacuums, consumers like this feature (on this vacuum it is activated via a foot pedal). However it should be noted that the power cord on the S3755 is only 22 feet in length and, in our opinion and the opinion of a number of consumers, this is rather short. Something in the neighbourhood of 30 feet is much more practical for most household use.
The Hoover S3755 has several attachments and tools including a hose (6 feet in length), a crevice tool, a dusting brush, a telescopic chrome wand, and a brush for cleaning the filters. Tools are stored on-board the vacuum. The power nozzle has a very low profile and consumers have indicated that it is fairly effective for cleaning under low furniture. The nozzle also has a 15 inch wide cleaning path which, compared to many other vacuums, is rather wide. This allows one to cover a maximum amount of area with each stroke of the vacuum, although as the nozzle head gets larger it often gets harder to move around and control.
The handle of the S3755 has fingertip controls that allow the brushbar to be turned on and off, and a power slider that can set the amount of vacuum suction. Many consumers feel the variable suction feature is quite useful. The ability to turn the brushbar on and off is also quite handy as it is relatively common to turn the brushbar off when vacuuming delicate surfaces (like high-end area rugs, hardwood floors, or certain tile or linoleum). The vacuum on/off is also on the handle.
The S3755 is another Hoover vacuum that utilizes their patented WindTunnel technology to create suction and remove debris from the air path. WindTunnel technology (according to Hoover) is a system that efficiently lifts and traps dirt, and using three distinct air channels it directs dirt into the dirt canister. It is also said to minimize any scattering of debris back onto the floor.
The vacuum is marketed as ultra-quiet although most folks indicated that it was neither particularly quiet nor particularly noisy. It did not seem to make a big impression with respect to being ultra-quiet. The footprint of the Hoover S3755 is quite small and it is therefore easy to store. It has dimensions 12.5 x 18 x 10.5 inches. The S3755 is neither a lightweight nor is it too heavy. It weighs about 20 lbs and is in the range where some people feel it is relatively easy to lift while others feel that lifting it is somewhat difficult. It also has soft non-marring wheels that ensure no scratching of delicate surfaces and it carries a 1-year Limited Manufacturer's Warranty.
