Bissell Rewind Premier Pet 67F8
- Details
Avg. consumer rating = 84/100
The Bissell Rewind Premier Pet (model 67F8) is geared towards households with pets and it gets mostly good reviews from owners. Consumers like the automatic cord rewind feature, the easy assembly and the ability of the vacuum to pull up pet hair. Most also highlight that the machine has great suction and is reasonably priced. The most significant area of discontent however is the unit's weight. A number of owners note that the vacuum is a little heavy and in some instances can be a chore to push.
The vacuum has two pet related features: a pet hair lifter on the front of the nozzle, and a pet hair turbo tool. The pet hair lifter is a unique approach to removing pet hair while vacuuming and this tool is essentially a lint-type brush that can be flipped down on the front of the nozzle. The brush grabs pet hair when the nozzle is pulled back and releases the hair into the path of the vacuum suction when the nozzle is pushed forward. It should only be used on carpet.

The pet hair turbo tool is a hand-held pet hair removal tool that has a suction driven brushbar with rubber fingers. This kind of tool is useful for removing pet hair from upholstery, carpet, stairs, etc. Both the pet hair lifter and the pet hair turbo tool can be seen in the vacuum cleaner video link provided near the bottom of this review.
Other tools included with the Bissell Rewind Premier Pet include a telescopic wand (plastic), a crevice tool, and a combination dusting brush & upholstery tool. These tools all store on board the vacuum. The unit also has a stretch hose.

Owner comments indicate the following common vacuum likes and dislikes:
PROS
- Easy to assemble
- Auto-retractable power cord
- Good suction
- Very capable at pulling up pet hair
- Wide cleaning path
- Reasonably priced
CONS
- Stretch hose is a bit stiff
- Some folks find it a little heavy
The 67F8 is powered by a 12 amp motor and suction is generated via Bissells helix dirt separation technology. This technology, according to Bissell, provides effective separation of dirt and debris thus protecting the motor and fan and ensuring continued performance. The approach is also said to extend filter life. There is little detailed information on the helix technology but it seems that this approach is similar (if not the same) as cyclonic suction which is used in most bagless vacuum cleaners.
A clean filter indicator on the vacuum monitors the machines airflow and will indicate when the airflow is significantly reduced. Generally a reduction in airflow is the result of a dirty filter but it can also be due to a clogged hose. In either case, the indicator turns from green to red until the problem is remediated, at which point it will revert back to green. It should be noted that some of the filters on the machine are washable but not all. The HEPA filter when dirty needs to be replaced.
HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air and this level of filtration helps remove very, very fine particles from the air. It has been used in the bio-medical industry for years helping to limit the spread of airborne bacteria and viruses. HEPA filtration is particularly popular with allergy or asthma sufferers as it will remove dust, pet dander, dust mite feces, pollens and other allergens.
The Bissell 67F8 has 5 different manually adjusted height settings (via a dial on the front of the vacuum nozzle) and according to Bissell these enable the machine to work effectively on both carpet and bare floors. Also, the settings provide the ability to adjust the nozzle for low pile, medium pile, and even high pile carpet. The lowest setting is for bare floors and low-pile carpet while the highest setting is for high pile carpet.

The power cord on this vacuum isnt particularly long at 25 feet but it does come with auto-rewind (a button beside the power cord triggers the auto-rewind). Automatic power cord rewind on an upright isnt all that common and many owners report really liking the feature.
Other vacuum cleaner features include a headlight for vacuuming in dimly lit areas or corners, a relatively wide 15 inch cleaning path, a protection guard on the nozzle that helps prevent furniture or wall scrapes, and a clear plastic easy-to-empty dust canister. The Rewind Premier Pet weighs 17.6 lbs which is not light but also not too heavy (in our opinion). It probably falls into the category of just slightly heavier than your average upright. It carries a 3-year limited warranty.

A short Bissell Rewind Premier Pet video can be seen here. It provides a quick look at some of the units features. It is essentially a commercial from Bissell but it still allows one to see some of the vacuum functionality.

The vacuum manual for this machine isnt particularly easy to find but Meijer do presently have a copy. You can view it here.
