Avg. consumer rating = 61/100

This is a short and to-the-point review of a popular, no-frills, stick vacuum cleaner.  The vacuum is lightweight and good for simple cleanups.  It is also a sleek, good looking machine that is fairly effective at picking up pet hair.  It is not meant to do heavy-duty work however.

Consumers report that this vacuum takes about 4 to 5 hours to charge and a full charge lasts for about 20 minutes.  For most this seems to be sufficient as the vacuum is really meant for quick, light cleanup jobs.   Consumer rating for this stick vac are generally quite good when the vacuum is new.  However over time we notice quite a few negative reviews creeping in.  For light cleanups the M083424 Accucharge does a fairly good job.  However if you are looking for something more heavy-duty, for more traditional vacuum deep cleaning, then this may not be the best product for you.

M083424 Features
The Dirt Devil M083424 is indeed lightweight, weighing in at just under 6 pounds.  There seems to be significant confusion as to the weight of this vacuum, having seen no less than 5 different weights reported, however Dirt Devil themselves indicate this vacuum weighs 5.84 pounds.  This is a 15.6-volt cordless stick vac that is Energy Star approved – apparently it comes with something called AccuCharge technology which is touted as providing longer battery life (protects them from degradation), 70% less energy consumption (accomplished by monitoring the charge of the battery such that when it is fully charged power is reduced to the amount necessary to maintain the charge) and much faster charging.  The vacuum has a 9.5 inch wide nozzle and motorized brushrolls which turn off for bare-floors cleaning.  It is also a bagless machine – meaning it uses a dirt container that is filled, emptied and placed back in the vacuum (no need to buy and dispose of vacuum cleaner bags).  Dimensions of this vacuum are 11”x7.5”x22.5”.  It also carries a respectable 2-year warranty on parts and motor.  The vacuum comes with a charging stand.  Also, there is no HEPA filter with this unit and it uses only standard filtration.
